Stephen Edwards is the Director of Student Achievement and Instructional Verification for the Fox Chapel Area School District. Prior to his current role, Dr. Edwards served as the principal of Fairview Elementary School and the assistant principal at O’Hara Elementary School within the district. Before becoming an administrator, Dr. Edwards was an elementary teacher in the South Fayette Township, Greensburg Salem and Moniteau school districts. Dr. Edwards began his teaching career as a sixth-grade classroom teacher for Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia. He has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Duquesne University, a master’s degree in reading education with a reading specialist certificate from the University of Pittsburgh, and a doctorate from California University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Edwards believes that it is our role as educators to maximize student growth and achievement by meeting the individual needs of students.
